Back Packs

We donate hundreds of backpacks to children ages 5 -17. Inside each backpack are necessities any school aged student would need.

Social Services

While the Social Services department does not diagnose illnesses or perform surgeries, they make a huge difference in supporting patient families. They provide grocery cards, gas cards, hot meals during long days at the hospital, medical supplies/equipment not covered by insurance, lodging for families who live at a distance from the hospital and more to alleviate the financial strain.

NICU NicView Camera Kits

A NICU NicView Camera allows a parent to view the progress of their newborn for days or months while their infant is cared for in the NICU. The camera streams video images around the clock on any device with internet access. These images can be shared with relatives and friends anywhere bringing comfort in stressful times.

Transcranial Doppler (TCD)

Transcranial Doppler (TCD) machine for the Sickle Cell program: Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) account for the largest share of pediatric stroke. More than 1 in 10 children with SCD are at risk of stroke, which can seriously impair physical, academic, emotional, and social function, and increase the risk of additional strokes and death. This state-of-the-art TCD machine detects risk of stroke in children with SCD – saving lives and vastly improving quality of life. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommends this screening for all SCD patients 2 and older, every 6-12 months. If stroke risk is detected, monthly transfusions can significantly reduce the risk
